Privacy Policy
Whirl. Effective 4 August 2026.
Whirl is a wedding reception games app made by Moonshot Media Limited. This policy explains, plainly, what happens to everything you put into it. The short version: nothing you enter reaches us, and the photographs never leave your phone.
1. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, receive, or store your personal information. Whirl has no accounts, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third party software development kits that report on you. We do not know your names, your guest list, your answers, your scores, or that you have used the app at all.
2. Information stored on your device
The couple’s names, the date, the Couple Bank answers, your tables, your own questions, the run sheet, the pack settings, the scores and the keepsake are stored on your device by the app.
3. Photos in How Old Were They
Photographs you choose for How Old Were They are stored in a private folder belonging to the app, on your device, and nowhere else. They are excluded from device backups, they are not written to iCloud, and no part of the app can upload them. Settings shows how many are stored and offers a control that deletes every one of them. This is why the app says, in Settings and in the App Store description, that photos you use in games stay on your phone.
4. The printable packs
Every printable pack is generated on your phone as a PDF. Nothing is sent to a server to be produced. When you tap Export or Print, iOS hands the file to whichever app or printer you choose, and what happens after that is governed by that app’s own policy.
5. iCloud sync (your private iCloud)
If you are signed in to iCloud, the app syncs your wedding, your Couple Bank, your run sheet and your keepsake to your own private iCloud database so they survive a reinstall or a new phone. That data sits in your Apple account, not ours. We cannot see it. Apple’s privacy policy governs it. Photographs are deliberately excluded from this sync.
6. Notifications
Whirl asks for notification permission only if you set a reminder on a run sheet slot. If you never set one, it never asks. Notifications are scheduled on your device.
7. The keepsake
The keepsake is compiled on your device from what happened at the wedding. It is exported only when you tap Export, and then only to wherever you send it.
8. Sharing
When you share a pack or a keepsake, iOS shows you the standard share sheet and you choose where it goes. Whirl does not send anything anywhere on its own.
9. Contacting us
If you email us at hi@moonshot.ie, we will have your email address and whatever you tell us, for as long as it takes to answer you. That is the only route by which we could hold anything about you.
10. In-app purchase
The single one-time purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive only aggregate, anonymous sales figures from Apple, which do not identify anybody.
11. Children’s privacy
Whirl is designed for a room that includes children and it collects nothing from anybody, of any age. It has no social features, no chat, no user generated content shared between people, and no way for a child to send anything to anyone.
12. Artificial intelligence
Whirl does not use artificial intelligence. Every question, prompt and card in it was written by a person, and nothing you enter is sent to any model or service.
13. Data security
Your data is protected by the security of your own device and your own Apple account. Because we hold nothing, there is no database of ours that could be breached.
14. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, port, or delete on your behalf. You can delete everything the app holds by deleting the app, and you can delete the photographs at any time from Settings. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with the effective date above.
