Get Help with Kaivalya
Welcome, and thank you for practising with Kaivalya. This page covers the questions we hear most often, in plain language. If you cannot find what you need here, we are only an email away and always glad to help.
Quick Answers
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so you cancel them in your App Store account settings, not inside Kaivalya. Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose Kaivalya, and then choose Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you bought Lifetime, there is nothing to cancel; it is yours forever.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by Moonshot. You can request one at https://support.apple.com/refunds, or by replying to the email receipt Apple sent you. We are happy to talk it through, but Apple is the only one who can process the refund.
Is my data private, and where is it stored?
Yes. There is no Kaivalya account and no Kaivalya server. Your practice data, including your integrations, reflections, ratings, Sankalpa, and self-assessments, is stored on your device. We do not collect personal data, and there are no analytics, ads, or trackers. For the full detail, see our Privacy Policy linked below.
What is free, and what does membership unlock?
The Free tier lets you explore your Yantra mandala and take the Mirror self-assessment, for free, for as long as you like. Kaivalya membership unlocks the full guided path. You can choose a Weekly subscription or a Yearly subscription (each with a 7-day free trial), or a one-time Lifetime purchase that unlocks everything forever. The pricing is the same in every market, and you can always upgrade between tiers.
What is the Mirror?
The Mirror is a self-assessment that helps you see where you stand across the principles before and during your ascent. It is part of the Free tier, so you can take it any time, and it is there to reflect your practice back to you, not to judge it.
What does “integrate” mean, as opposed to “complete”?
Kaivalya is built around integrating the yamas and niyamas one at a time rather than simply ticking them off. To integrate a principle is to weave it into how you actually live, gradually and honestly, so your progress reflects lived practice rather than a finished checkbox.
How do I turn on the daily reminder?
You can set one optional daily reminder at a time that suits you. Reminders are off by default. Turn it on in the App’s settings and pick your time; the reminder is scheduled locally on your device, so nothing leaves your phone to deliver it.
How do I enable Apple Health mindful minutes?
Apple Health is off until you choose to enable it. Once you turn it on, Kaivalya writes Mindful Minutes to Apple Health whenever you log a reflection. It never reads your health data and never shares it. You can switch this off again at any time in the Health app.
What is the Sankalpa?
Your Sankalpa is your personal promise or intention, the heartfelt resolve that anchors your practice. You set it in the App, and it stays with you on your device as a quiet reminder of why you began.
What is “Beginner’s Mindset”?
Beginner’s Mindset resets your journey so you can start fresh. It clears your progress and returns you to the beginning of the path. It is a deliberate reset, so use it when you genuinely want a clean start.
How does iCloud sync work?
If you are signed into iCloud, Kaivalya can sync your practice privately across your own devices through Apple’s CloudKit private database, so your journey stays consistent on your iPhone and iPad. This data lives in your private iCloud, and Moonshot cannot see it. You can turn iCloud off for Kaivalya at any time in the iOS Settings app.
