Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 June 2026

Kaivalya is built around a simple idea: your practice is yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the Kaivalya app for iPhone and iPad (the “App”). Kaivalya is made by Moonshot Media Limited, a company registered in Ireland (“Moonshot”, “we”, “us”).

The short version: there is no account and no login, we do not collect your personal data, and your practice stays on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud.

No Account, No Tracking

You do not need to sign up, log in, or create an account to use Kaivalya. We do not collect personal data about you.

There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no data brokers in the App. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your information, because we do not have it.

Where Your Practice Data Lives

Everything you create in Kaivalya stays on your device. This includes your event history, such as your integrations, reflections, and ratings, your Sankalpa promise, and your self-assessments. It is stored locally using Apple’s on-device database.

Moonshot does not operate a server for your practice data and holds no copy of it.

Optional iCloud Sync

If you are signed into iCloud, Kaivalya can sync your data privately across your own devices through Apple’s CloudKit private database. This keeps your journey consistent whether you open the App on your iPhone or your iPad.

This data lives in your private iCloud and is governed by Apple’s privacy terms. Moonshot cannot see it. If you would prefer not to sync, you can turn off iCloud for Kaivalya in the iOS Settings app at any time.

Widgets and StandBy

So that the Home Screen widget, Lock Screen widget, and StandBy view can show your progress, the App writes a small snapshot, today’s focus principle and your progress, to a shared App Group container. This snapshot stays on your device and is not sent anywhere.

Optional Apple Health

Apple Health is off until you turn it on. If you explicitly enable it, the App writes Mindful Minutes to Apple Health when you log a reflection. That is the only thing it does.

Kaivalya never reads your health data and never shares it. You can revoke the App’s access at any time in the Health app.

Optional Notifications

You can set one optional daily reminder, at a time you choose. Reminders are off by default. They are scheduled locally on your device, so there is no push server involved and nothing leaves your device to deliver them.

Sharing a Card

When you choose to share a result card or an ascent card, it is passed to the standard iOS share sheet and sent to the app you select. From that point the receiving app’s own privacy terms apply. Moonshot does not receive a copy of what you share.

In-App Purchases

Kaivalya membership is purchased through the App Store, and all payments are processed by Apple. Moonshot receives only the anonymous transaction and entitlement information that Apple provides so we can confirm your membership is active. We never see your card details or your full Apple ID.

Children

Kaivalya is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no data from anyone, including children.

Your Rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA)

We respect the data protection rights you have under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the CCPA. Because we hold no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on our side.

Your data is yours: it lives on your device and in your own iCloud, and it remains under your control. You can remove it at any time by:

  • deleting the App, which removes the data stored on your device;
  • clearing the App’s iCloud data in the iOS Settings app, if you used iCloud sync; or
  • using the in-app Beginner’s Mindset feature, which resets your journey.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. We will keep the spirit the same: minimal data, kept close to you.
